Are You in Need of a Refresher Course??
One rainy Friday morning, out for deliveries;
I was at a long time customer's delivering shrink wrap and stretch film. I was trading out some 7 mil white shrink film for 9 mil shrink film. I told the gentleman that in the future we do carry a 8 mil. He began to explain that the 7 mil just was not working for them that the truck drivers were having trouble with the tape coming loose but did understand it since it's been so cold with extreme weather conditions. He blamed it on the truck driver, that they did not want to get up there and re-tape. So I said " are you making sure you are getting a good weld on your seams"? He says " what do you mean by that. " So I proceed to tell him how we heat weld the seam together first by using the Pro-Tect Heavy Duty Spray Adhesive to temporally tack the two pieces together only using the tape when necessary to keep the pieces together before welding the seam with the heat gun. Unfortunately this is not what they have been doing. They actually bring the two pieces together and tape, never welding the plastic together at all! In fact they avoid that area altogether as to not disturb the tape. We at Pro-Tect do the exact opposite by using our spray adhesive to temporarily tack the two pieces together then weld it with the heat gun then applying the tape while it's still warm to really melt in a good welded seam that you can't even pull apart. Then shrink away until it's drum tight!
It opened my eyes to that even your oldest customers need refresher training, as some people move on to other jobs they take this knowledge with them. We think that it's so important to educate the end user of our products and installations.
Your success is our success!!

IT’S A WRAP- TOWER BRIDGE IS GOLDEN WITHOUT THE PAINT JOB
Bridge work: many Sacramento’s have raised concerns about the pumpkin-like “gold” paint being applied to the Tower Bridge by the California Department of Transportation. But only Keith McBride recognized the project for what it is a brilliant parody of high-concept pop art. The wrapping of the Tower Bridge looks almost as if it’s work by renowned artist Christo, Keith said.
In fact, in its present form, the bridge may look even better that it will once the dull gold paint has been applied. Here one vote for leaving the bridge wrapped in white shrink wrap at a fraction of Christo’s price – provided it can still go up and down!! 10/04 The Sacramento Bee Metro
